Last year 2012, I dated Ubuntu, but this year, my new beau is Debian.

Welcome, Miss Debian:

root@debian:/home/tokunbo# lsb_release -a

No LSB modules are available.
Distributor ID: Debian
Description: Debian GNU/Linux 6.0.6 (squeeze)
Release: 6.0.6
Codename: squeeze
root@debian:/home/tokunbo#

I'm rooting from Debian - The Universal Operating System. It has been quite a breeze: installation, configuration and seeing how things roll. I shall be posting my Debian Installation notes for keeps and reference purposes. It could help someone, I hope.

Anyway, I just installed Drivel Journal Editor, simply described as A journal client for the GNOME desktop - for blogging purposes.

1) Drivel Journal Editor is available in System >> Administration >> Synaptic Package Manger - assuming you have Synaptic installed.

2) Joomla Configuration is quite straightforward:

Launch Drivel Enter your Username and Password

Journal type - select Movable type

Server address: http://yourdomainname.whatever/xmlrpc/index.php

Click the login button

Side Notes:

1) Joomla Categories not discovered

2) Although it looks as if theres no option to insert images into posts from a local folder
