This tutorial guides on how to install a module in Drupal.

1) From Drupal'a admin login main menu: Home >> Administration.

Click on MODULES

2) click on INSTALL NEW MODULE

3) Go to Drupal.org and search for the module you want to install. For example, to install the Administration menu: click here: http://drupal.org/project/admin_menu

Scroll downthe page to the Recommended releases to find the download for your release. I prefer using the .zip.

Right click on the filename and "copy link location".

Back to drupal now.

Paste the copied link location into the Install from a URL input box and click the Install button.

4) If the installation was successful, you'll see a message like this:

Click on Enable Newly added Modules, scroll down to the newly created Administration modules section.

5) Enable the Administration menu by ticking the check-box. Click on Save Configuration.

A change in the administration menu is immediately noticed.

The above procedure is applicable to just about any Drupal module fit for installation.
