I didn't know that domain-name scams is another department in the Internet Scam Company. I checked my mailbox today, and lo what did Ifind?
(click to enlarge images below), an email supposedly notifying me of an expired domain: hostkobo.net; with links to a site where I should make payment: $75 per domain name.
For like 2-mins, I was a little surprised to see the notice, coz I know the domain isn't due yet. At first, I thought it came from my registrar for hostkobo.net. To be sure, I did a lookup at centralops.net to know when the domain will expire - still a long way to go: October 2001. Todays date is 2nd August.
canonical name hostkobo.net.

A closer scrutinization: there are 5-links on the page(above screenshot): two "hostkobo.net", two "pay now 128 secure" links. The fifth one is an "optout now" link (lower left hand corner).
Flipping out my Firefox firebug, each of the hostbo.net / pay now 128 secure links to

question: how can 1-domain cost $75 / year for renewal?
